Next stop Westeros

Metric for the Kerr black hole -- actually one of the easier solutions to Einstein's equations
I've been invited to give a talk at the upcoming Swedish national SF convention, Replicon in Västerås, Sweden in June! Working title: the mathematics of black holes.

Last year I was amazed how people got up early to see my talk on non-Euclidean geometry, so I'm looking forward to how people respond to partial differential equations when they're fully awake ;)

"Västerås" reads as "Westeros" in English and indeed is from where George R. R. Martin took the name for his fantasy continent. Finland meanwhile is home to the infamous Talvivaara nickel mine whose name, if you squint and hope, translates as "Winterfell."
